The Maternity Block at University Hospital Galway is housed in a simple, robust reinforced concrete and masonry structure. The Maternity Theatre suite was dated, with obsolete building services and finishes.
Cullen Payne Architects re-modelled the Theatre Suite within the constraints of the existing structure. Internal walls were removed, the theatre enlarged and operational flows improved. The Theatre suite was entirely re-serviced, with new finishes and fittings.
