Cullen Payne Architects is a practice of Architects, Designers and Project Managers based in Dublin but working across Ireland and beyond.  We pride ourselves on the integrity of our approach, the quality of our work and the level of service that we provide to our clients.

25 Years in practice

Cullen Payne Architects was founded in 1994 by Brian Cullen and Robert Payne. Past and current projects range in scale and type and include healthcare, residential, commercial, workplace, research and innovation, leisure and hospitality, and master planning. They demonstrate the skills of the practice in delivering large and complex building of all types.

To secure the future of the practice, we have recently made a number of new management appointments, which, when added to the long experience of the founding directors, has injected a new dynamism to management and strategic development of the practice.

How we work

Listening to our clients is fundamental to how we work. Each design we undertake is specific to its site and brief and is derived from a rigorous analysis of its particular character, resulting in a distinct visual expression for each project.

Rather than applying universal systems, we approach design from first principles in order to uncover the structure most suited to the most effective delivery of our client’s goals. By harnessing the wealth of experience of our team, every aspect of the brief, from energy efficient design to construction methods derived from site or programme constraints, is exploited to produce a unique design character.
