Kishoge Train Station, West Dublin

Cullen Payne Architects have recently completed the refurbishment and façade treatment of a disused train station in west Dublin, bringing the facility back into use for Iarnród Éireann. The existing building had fallen into disrepair and required complete refurbishment. The works involved the reconfiguration of the facility, recommissioning of all mechanical, electrical and communication systems and the installation of a new bespoke tensile stainless steel mesh façade system. This new tensile mesh façade was envisaged as a light, translucent but robust protective membrane layered over the existing glazed façade and was designed by Cullen Payne Architects to be suspended from new secondary steel hung from the existing roof trusses.
