The brief for this extension was to amalgamate Ballymun Senior and Junior Comprehensive Schools, which share the same site. There was also a requirement to enhance the appearance of the school in general and to upgrade the building with regard to building fabric and services and compliance with the most recent Building Regulations.
The new development consists of a new glazed double height entrance hall and portico with glazed link corridors back into the single storey halls. Two new social areas were also provided in the heart of the plan. All windows were replaced with double glazed aluminium windows. The existing front boundary fence was replaced with railings on a low concrete wall. New paving and landscaping was also provided.
