Emergency Department, Beaumont Hospital

Cullen Payne Architects are pleased to announce that planning permission has been submitted for a new emergency department at Beaumont Hospital. The combined team of Cullen Payne Architects and Moloney O’Beirne Architects are leading the design team to deliver the new facility, which will provide over 6,500m2 of new clinical accommodation, comprising 54 treatment spaces, diagnostics, support accommodation, staff support, and bereavement spaces.

The project forms part of the hospital’s drive to decarbonise and utilises heat pumps, solar arrays, high performances envelope, and passive cooling strategies to aid this. It also has rain gardens and green roofs to promote biodiversity.

The ED plugs into the masterplan for the campus, which will deliver significant projects over the coming years, including a new endoscopy department, which is designed by Cullen Payne Architects and has also been submitted for planning permission.
