Phlebotomy Unit,
St Michael’s Hospital, Dún Laoghaire

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter

The scheme for the Phlebotomy Unit at St Michael’s Hospital involved the change of use of a shop at 98 George’s Street Lower and the construction of a new two-storey extension.

The shop was stripped out and clinical and office accommodation provided over three floors. The ground floor now contains the Phlebotomy Unit, with reception, waiting area and treatment rooms. Training and seminar rooms are provided at first floor.

The new extension is finished in self-coloured render to complement the limestone of the original hospital buildings. A new walkway, ramp and steps provide an accessible link between the new building and the main hospital.
