Mortuary,
St Michael’s Hospital, Dún Laoghaire
The mortuary at St Michael’s Hospital was in poor condition and did not meet current standards.
The project involved demolition of the mortuary and replacement with a new single storey building. In addition, a new glazed lobby provides both a link to the mortuary from the main hospital and a new entrance to the Out Patients Department. The associated site works provided an accessible entrance to the new buildings and rationalised access to the main Hospital.
The new mortuary comprises a body viewing room, an office, counselling room and supporting accommodation.
